Born in Acireale in 1971, at the age of fifteen he began to study singing with soprano Cecilia Fusco, receiving a diploma with honors at age 22, at the G. Tartini Conservatory of Trieste. He improved his vocal technique with Magda Olivero, Andrea Genovese and Eros Cassardo. Currently is being followed by Maestro Angelo Gabrielli, participating in his Singing Master Classes. Furthermore he revises the musical scores with Maestro Carlo Caputo in Turin.
He has won some of the most important singing competitions, including: the 1991 Voltolini in Mantua “Premio Maestro Ettore Campogalliani”, in 1994 a gold medal for G. B. Viotti in Vercelli, in 1997, the Competition “Voci Verdiane” in Busseto.
In 2002, winner of the International Competition “Giuseppe Di Stefano” in Trapani, and the Competition “Tito Gobbi” in Bassano del Grappa receiving the Plaque of Honour “Tito Gobbi” and the first prize at the First Vocal Competition of Sacred Music in Rome.
In 2005 he was the overall winner in the competition “Mattia Battistini” in Rieti. In 2010 he was in X’ian for 15 concerts to inaugurate the UNESCO World Heritage archaeological site. The following year he received the “Garitta d’Argento” (National Prize in Sicily in 2011).
In 2012 he debuted in Pagliacci in Arad, playing the role of Tonio, with the State Orchestra of Romania directed by M° Lorenzo Tazzieri.
In 2013 she sang the role of Ezio in Attila (Rovereto), then the Traviata in the role of Germont in theaters of Piedmont, then Barber of Seville in the role of Figaro in Sicily (Catania, Noto and Gela) a tour with Astana State Opera Symphony conducted by Abzal Mukhitdinov, which in turn was invited by the Maestro Abzal Mukhitdinov to inaugurate the Marble Hall at the Teatro dell’Opera in Astana in 2014. Also in 2014 was in Israel for Un Ballo in Maschera directed by M° Amos Talmon with the Choir Philharmonic and Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra. Furthermore in 2014 he received the International Prize “Il Castagno dei Cento Cavalli”.
He sang the following operas: The Marriage of Figaro, I Puritani, La Traviata, Nabucco, Il Trovatore, Rigoletto, Un Ballo in Maschera, Ernani, Attila, La Bohème, The Barber of Seville, Carmen, Lucia di Lammermoor, Don Pasquale, the Bat, La Romanziera, I Pagliacci, Turandot, Cavalleria Rusticana, Il Segreto di Susanna, Le Villi, Madama Butterfly, Simon Boccanegra, I Vespri Siciliani, Manon Lescaut, Fedora, the Marquis of Roccaverdina, Carmina Burana and Symphony No. 9 Beethoven.
He has performed in many theaters, among which: Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, Verdi in Trieste, La Pergola, Rossini in Pesaro, Regio in Turin, Chiabrera in Savona, Grande in Brescia, Petruzzelli, the Rendano Cosenza, Teatro Carignano in Turin, the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago, the Social Rovigo, the Municipale in Piacenza, Dell’Aquila in Fermo, Morlacchi, Malatesta Court of Fano, Luglio Musicale Trapanese, Nuovo in Spoleto and many other traditional theaters. Abroad: Opera Astana, Kazakhstan. Bunka Kaikan in Tokyo, Osaka and other cities of Japan, where he sang a tour of the Barber of Seville with tenor Antonino Siracusa and Sonia Ganassi. In Africa he sang in Réunion with Fiorella Burato.
He was the first baritone in the world who sang the Barber of Seville in Doha, Qatar and again: Théatre du Casino Geneva, Seville, Lisbon, Barcelona, Paris, Seoul, New York, Miami, the Poly Theater in Beijing, he sang Un Ballo in Maschera and taught a master of singing at the Conservatory in the same city.
He recorded some CDROMs for the record company Bongiovanni, Easter Fiorentina I. Capitanio, Elvida The novelist and Donizetti, Mascagni in Spinning Mill, High Mass of A. Mazzucato. for the first time has recorded Ode to Joy of P. Mascagni for the record company Concerto in 2013 in Tuscany.
For the record company Chicco Classic has recorded Requiem of G. Faurè, and for Niccolò Le Villi by G. Puccini, Éve and Vierge of Massenet.
He has collaborated with conductors such as: Gianluigi Gelmetti, Nikša Bareza, Steven Mercurio, Marcello Rota, Roberto Tolomelli, Carl Martin, Bruno Aprea, Vittorio Parisi, Marcello Panni, Lorenzo Castriota Skanderbeg, Daniele Callegari, Amos Talmon, Daniele Agiman, Marco Balderi and Giampaolo Sanzogno. Among the directors are: Beppe De Tomasi, Filippo Crivelli, Francesco Esposito, Mauro Avogadro, George Pressburger, Michal Znaniecki, Marco Carniti and Antonello Madau Dias.
He has worked with artists such as Carlo Cossutta, Andrea Bocelli, Lando Bartolini, Cecilia Gasdia, Maria Dragoni, Vincenzo La Scola, Nicola Martinucci, Ernesto Palacio, Barbara Hendricks, Renato Bruson, Katia Ricciarelli, Denia Mazzola Gavazzeni, Ghena Dimitrova, Francesca Patane, Ganassi Simone Alaimo, Siragusa and Rolando Panerai.
